To develop and improve the plants processing abilities in the production of injection moulded fittings such that all parts are being produced using the most efficient parameters that will yield zero defects. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Start up of new moulds and documentation of the processing parameters for those new start ups. (Note: During the first year of this position the Processing Engineer will be spending the major portion of their time developing the processes for all of the parts in the Large Diameter Fitting Project)
- Development, documentation, monitoring the use of, and continuously improving the injection moulding process parameters used to produce each new and existing part that we mould.
- Development and training of all process/setup people in the use of a standardized troubleshooting method for molding problems.
- Development, documentation, monitoring the use of, and continuously improving the Sonic Welding process parameters used to weld our parts.
- Development and training of all process/setup people in the use of a standardized troubleshooting method for sonic welding problems.
- Development, documentation, monitoring the use of, and continuously improving the programming and use of robotic equipment.
- Development and training of all process/setup people in Robot programming.
- Development, documentation, monitoring the use of and continuous improvement of the setup procedures, parameters or operating procedures for any new production equipment introduced to the plant.
- Participate in, or lead Lean/Six Sigma, Research and Development or other projects and teams as assigned.
- Minimum of a 3 year college program in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of injection molding processing and hands on experience.
- Knowledge of PVC and CPVC product processing.
- Ability to solve complex problems while being an independent and creative thinker.
- Able to optimize, create and teach new SOP’s on improvements and new opportunities.
- Good computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Self motivated.
